I have been turning since 1996 and found this artistic activity to be a perfect replacement for the singing I used to do. When I lost my voice I was lost, and the woodturning satisfies the need to create, to make stuff. In the ensuing years, there has been thousands of bowls, vases, urns, little boxes, and on and on. It has been great fun. The satisfaction in giving a piece of a dead tree a new future as an art or useful object is a satisfying an rewarding endeavor.
